Charney Manor a Quaker Conference and retreat centre in the heart of the Oxfordshire Countryside ... offers a relaxing and peaceful stay in our gorgeous countryside setting where you can explore our stunning gardens, opt for various local picturesque walks or just take some time to read in our fully stocked library. All our stays are fully catered, with all meals taken in our historic 13th Century dining room.
Charney Manor is home to 23 bedrooms all of which have private bathrooms. These bedrooms can be booked on a single occupancy basis or If a larger capacity is required, 35 Guests on a shared basis or 43 Guests if our Gillett’s cottage is used for additional accommodation.
All our meals are freshly made on site using locally sourced produce to include produce from our very own kitchen garden. We cater for a variety of dietary requirements and our Catering team can specifically create a menu for your Retreat.
The Barn, our main indoor space which is ideal for yoga and Pilates, which can hold up to 23 Retreatants, the barn if used for training or conference events can hold 30 in a circle or up to 43 theatre style seating. Our historic Solar can accommodate 30 Guests, this space is ideal for meditation or lectures.
Indoor communal spaces include the Sitting room, social room, lower barn and the library which is fully stocked with a variety of books on yoga, meditation and spirituality. All rooms are accessible and are on the ground floor.
Outdoor, there are large gardens, a secret garden, an orchard, our kitchen garden and a courtyard with seating and picnic areas.
Charney Manor values sustainability, using local produce and fair-trade products where possible, we even have our own kitchen garden !
We compost and recycle as much as possible, have a genuis heating system,offer our Guests the use of the electric car charger and have been awarded a Silver Green Tourism award
Located in Charney Bassett Oxfordshire, Charney Manor is only 1.5 hours from London, 20 minutes from the Picturesque Cotswold’s and 20 minutes from the Historic Oxford, which makes Charney an ideal venue for Retreat Organisers to provide the perfect setting for rest and relaxation.

Charney Manor offers single occupancy accommodation to 23 Retreatants. Two of these bedrooms have private bathrooms. All bedrooms have tea & coffee facilities, ensuite, towels and shower gel. 35 Retreatants can be accommodated on a shared occupancy basis.
We also have a five-bedroom cottage that can be used for additional accommodation offering further accommodation to 8 Retreatants (43 Retreatants in total).
The Gillett’s cottage can he hired separately on a self-catered basis. It has 5 bedrooms (3 Twin/double and 2 single) Lounge, Dining room, kitchenette, shower room, bathroom and an outdoor seating area.

The Barn is our main indoor space which is ideal for yoga, mediation and Pilates. It can hold up to 23.

We have several local picturesque walks including one to Cherbury Camp. We also
have a variety of outdoor games which can be played within our gardens, to include boules, crocket, American football, Bowles, archery and connect four.
